Major Exhibition of Kaikaoss at the Bachmann Museum in Bremervörde
From September 26th to October 24th, the Bachmann Museum in Bremervörde hosted an extraordinary exhibition by the Afghan-German artist Kaikaoss. Presented for the first time by the cultural and local heritage association “Kunst an der Oste,” this show revealed the fascinating and multi-layered world of this impressive painter.
Kaikaoss’ works captivate with their photographic precision and realistic portrayal, which at the same time contain mysterious symbolism and surreal elements. His paintings challenge viewers to look more closely and embark on an emotional and intellectual journey. Combining detailed craftsmanship with visual illusions, Kaikaoss opens up colorful parallel worlds reminiscent of Salvador Dalí’s dreams.
A special highlight of the exhibition was the art performance “Emotions in Motion,” where Kaikaoss brought his paintings to life through dance, music, and installation. In this performance, the painting “The Afghan” literally stepped out of the canvas: figures were embodied by performers who engaged directly with visitors. The exhibition space itself became a three-dimensional canvas, offering an intense sensory experience.
Born in Kabul and now based in Cologne, the artist processes not only personal experiences but also the political drama of his homeland in his works. Despite the heavy themes, his paintings radiate a positive energy and vibrant colors—Kaikaoss describes this as creating “summer in winter.”
For him, painting is more than a profession; it is a workshop where he simultaneously shapes and develops his many ideas. The Bachmann Museum exhibition showcased a compelling selection of his latest works and provided visitors with the opportunity to learn more about his techniques and background in personal conversations.
This exhibition was an absolute must for art lovers and anyone willing to engage in a moving encounter with an extraordinary artistic personality.
